Our project team works closely together, and regular meetings are held to review the status of each project, ensuring there are no gaps in the scope of work.
Our meetings also provide an opportunity to discuss any issues that have arisen and how to resolve them in the most efficient manner. We currently have six site superintendents on staff (one that is Gold Seal Certified) and approximately 30 employees including: various administration and accounting staff, project/construction managers, project coordinators, and an estimating team, as well as site safety officers employed on each of our projects.
John took over Floris Construction from his father when it was incorporated as J. Floris Construction Ltd. in 1996. After graduating from BCIT in 1983 with a major in Economics from the Building Technology Program, John began working in the construction industry. Now, John oversees each on-going project, completing regular site visits to ensure scheduling and quality standards are being met. As principal of J. Floris Construction Ltd., John personally ensures each project is completed with the standard and care his company is known for.
Dave started working with Floris Construction in 1979 and stayed on with the company when it was incorporated in 1996, making him our longest standing employee. During his time with us, he has been able to complete his carpentry apprenticeship and journeyman certificate. Over the years, Dave has taken on many different supervisory positions for credit unions and renovation projects. Today, he is one of our most esteemed project managers and is responsible for project estimation, cost control, scheduling, project management, project close-out procedures, sub-trade contracts, and weekly onsite project reviews.
Kevin began working with J. Floris Construction Ltd. in 2017 bringing with him 32 years of experience in the construction industry, including design, construction management, production manufacturing, and project management. Through being a Red Seal Journeyman, Kevin has completed projects ranging from residential to commercial and industrial projects. Kevin’s skillset includes project planning, construction management, site coordination, design, and engineering services, and is currently working towards his PMP designation.

Mina was born and raised in Fiji completing high school before migrating to New Zealand for further studies. She completed her first year at the University of Auckland BCOM. Perth, Australia was a new city back then and Mina saw a great opportunity to begin a prosperous life so she relocated once again. She received her Bachelor of Commerce double major in Accounting and Finance from The University of Western Australia. She married and in 1998 moved to Canada pursuing further post graduate studies with CGA-BC. Mina attained CPA designation in 2002 while working for a local company in their accounting department. In July of 2012 she began her work with J Floris Construction as Financial Controller.
